Burberry Lip Mist 209 Feather Pink Review & Swatches

Burberry describes these "lip mists" as natural sheer lipsticks, I'd say that was pretty spot on. It's not so sheer that it doesn't show up though This is very much a MLBB shade, it enhances as well as perfects your lip tone with out looking too "done". It comes in a gunmetal case with classic Burberry print on the outer case and on the lipstick itself which is pretty clever, also it has a rather nifty magnetic closure. Overall I really like these and even though the price point is slightly higher than some other brands I don't feel that it's over priced.

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Bonheur 61 Review and Swatch

Bonheur is part of the permanent range of Chanel lipsticks. It's quite a deceptive looking colour in the tube where it looks an incredibly dark berry shade, on the lips it's very flattering sheer pinkish plum. I find these are excellent on the go lipsticks as you don't need lipliner or any of the other paraphernalia that goes with using a opaque lip colour. Because of it's creamy texture, reapplication is going to be necessary but on the plus side I do find I can skip balm during the day with these.

Paul and Joe Lip Lacquer 08 Bouquet Review & Swatch

This lip lacquer by Paul & Joe called 08 "Bouquet" is a bright coral, it's not totally opaque so can slightly change its appearance depending on the pigmentation of your lips. Wear time on me is about average 2-3 hours and I don't find it particularly tacky.

You also get a huge amount of gloss for your money, 13ml in a squeezy tube (similar to Mac's old Lipgelees) which is more than double what your average lipgloss gives.

YSL Rouge Volupte Perle 114 Sparkling Fuchsia Review & Swatches

Launched as part of YSL's spring collection this new Rouge Volupte Perle is a bright (not neon) hot pink with lots of shimmer. As with other Rouge Voluptes it's very creamy, quite moisturising, good payoff and has a sweet mango scent. The only trade of with the texture is that it does tend to have quite a lot of slip and doesn't hang on as long as say, a matte finish.

Barry M Lipstick 52 Shocking Pink- THE Mac Candy Yum Yum Dupe

This uber bright pink lipstick is 52 Shocking Pink by Barry M and is widely touted as a dupe of Mac's Candy Yum Yum. It's a cool neon pink, and because it has white pigments in it, it really stands out from your face to give maximum impact. I would say that this is slightly different texture wise. It feels a little drier to me and can cling to any imperfections on the lips so exfoliation prior to application is a must.

I really love this lipstick and considering the price point (£4.50) it's an amazing buy, especially when you consider what prices Candy Yum Yum goes for on eBay.

Guerlain Kiss Kiss Gloss 869 Rose In Bloom Swatch & Review

Launched as part of Guerlain's Spring 2012 collection this new Kiss Kiss Gloss in 869 Rose In Bloom is a gorgeous milky peach, jam packed with gold shimmer. This looks pretty either by itself or layered over a bright lipstick. It is one of those slightly tacky lipglosses, although I do not find it bothers me at all.

It comes in the usual Guerlain Kiss Kiss Gloss packaging - a clear base with a metal cap (which does hold fingerprints if you're not careful!). I've been told at the Guerlain counter near me that this shade is being made permanent which is just as well as it's a stunning and versatile gloss.

Tom Ford Spanish Pink 01 Lipstick Review & Swatch

Tom Ford's Spanish Pink lipstick is a creamy nude peach-pink with subtle shimmer and opaque coverage. It's a very easy and flattering colour to wear so I can see why it's so popular. I don't find it specifically moisturising but at the same time it's not drying.

As with the rest of the line this is packaged in a heavy dark brown and gold metal casing. Although I've found that even though I haven't had it for very long, the gold colour has chipped off around the edges. This is slightly disappointing as it's one of the most expensive lipsticks on the market, hopefully mine is just a dud and no one else encounters this problem!

Overall this is a lovely lipstick, and if you can handle the hefty price tag it's a nice one to have in your kit!

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain 8 Orange De Chine Review & Swatch

My latest purchase from Yves Saint Laurent is another Glossy Stain, this time I chose number 8 "Orange De Chine" which is a beautiful bright orange. It's a semi sheer jelly but still packs a lot of colour. If you layer this I find you get the best results. The first coat gives you a stain, once this is applied wait for a minute or so then apply your second coat for a glossy finish.

Lancome Rouge In Love 340B Rose Boudoir Review & Swatch

Lancome have just launched a new range of lipsticks called Rouge In Love with Emma Watson heading the campaign. I picked up shade 340B called Rose Boudoir. It's soft and creamy but still very pigmented. I also found this to be an almost exact dupe of Mac's Watch Me Simmer which sold out incredibly quickly!

Lancome French Touch Lipsticks Review and Swatches

I haven't heard much talk about these which are from Lancome's Spring Collection Roseraie des Delices. These are beautifully packaged in metal tubes with pistachio stripes a bit like candy canes. They also have a lovely balmy feel to them so don't dry out your lips like a lot of lipsticks.

It comes in 3 shades:

314 Rose Candy, 316 Soft Marshmallow and 318 Sweet Marmalade

314 Rose Candy is a super bright hot pink, it gives a decent amount of colour but it's still sheer (not creamy opaque coverage) so your lip colour shines through. I wouldn't call it glossy but gives a more natural shine. Very pretty.

318 Sweet Marmalade is my favourite of the bunch. It's a coral pink colour, very similar to Mac's Flamingo lipstick from the Iris Apfel collection that goes for crazy money on eBay. It has a lovely way of brightening the face without looking too obvious.

316 Soft Marshmallow is a cool baby pink, it's sheer but gives your lips a milky pink tinge. Looks lovely with a smokey eye.

Mac On A Holiday Plushglass Review and Swatch

On a recent shopping trip I came across Mac's Vera Collection, one thing caught my eye and that was a Plushglass in On A Holiday. It's a clear bright pink with lots of blue sparkles. I actually love this formula, it's plumping and it doesn't turn white around the inside rim of the lips as some other glosses do. Due to the plumping action of this gloss it does rely on a tingling sensation, on me I find it quite mild and it doesn't bother me at all.

Bobbi Brown Neon Pink Lipstick Review, swatch and Dupe

Bobbi Brown Neon Pink Lipstick

Along with the Atomic Orange Lipstick, Bobbi Brown launched this Neon Pink lipstick in her Neons and Nudes collection. It's a vibrant but wearable pink with a pretty sheen. I can't detect any fragrance although it does smell a touch waxy. For me such a bright lipstick really feels a huge step from Bobbi, however she's made it so it's elegant, not garish and still very wearable. I hope we see more shades like this from her in the future!

I found a few similar colours in my kit, the best match comes from Yves Saint Laurent with it's Rouge Voulpte Lipstick in 10 Provocative Pink. It's almost identical, maybe slightly creamier and hence has a bit more slip so won't last quite as long as Neon Pink. Mac's Quick Sizzle is a touch more blue based and a matte finish.

Dolce & Gabbana The Blush 15 Sole: Swatch and Review

My first venture into Dolce & Gabbana blushers was this one, called 15 "Sole". It's a stunning matte red with a orange undertone. It requires a really light touch and plenty of blending as it's so bold and pigmented. Don't let the intense colour put you off, this can look amazing on all skintones!

It's packaged in a luxe gold metal case with a mirror under the lid, also included is a little blush brush which is great if you're in a snip!

I also found it to be very similar to Mac's Devil Blush- this used to be available at the pro store around Carnaby Street but sometimes gets repromoted in their collections so keep an eye out!

Mac Tendertones Review: Purring and Tread Gently

I was a bit of a latecomer to the whole tendertones party, but when they finally launched in the Shop Mac Cook Mac collection I new I'd have to pick a couple up to see what the fuss was about. So duly obliged and picked up Purring and Tread Gently. Purring in the pot looks like a bright orange but on application it's a very sheer but pretty hint of orange on the lips. Tread Gently is a clear yellow with lots of greenish yellow sparkle. On the lips it goes on sheer but in the light it sparkles beautifully! What I really like about these is 1) They smell of tropical fruits and 2) They are more moisturising than your average lipgloss. I don't think these could hold up against a really good lip balm but are perfect for a bit of colour and hydration during the day.
