Tom Ford Blush in Flush: Review and Swatches

On my last trip back to the UK I picked up Tom Ford's Blusher in "Flush". It's a very vibrant coral pink, shot through with gold shimmer. Soft but not powdery and highly pigmented, so you need a light hand to avoid clown cheeks. At first glance this reminded me of my beloved Mac's discontinued Foolish me, although this is slightly more orange but on the cheeks they are extremely similar.

Nars Orgasm is lighter and more peachy, Mac Style is lighter and Mac Hipness is a lot less bright and not as pink.

It's nicely packaged (at this price point you wouldn't expect anything less) in a heavy, slim brown and gold metal case with a mirror under the lid. It currently retails at £45 so if you're looking to splurge on a blush this is a good place to start!

Illamasqua Nomad Nail Polish Review and Swatches

From Illamasqua's new Human fundamentalism collection I have the Nomad nail polish. I was curious about this colour even though I rarely stray from red/neon coral/pink. It's a bright creamy jade green, almost neon looking. Opaque in 2 coats. I couldn't quite find a dupe for this one either, China Glaze Aquadelic was more blue, Essie Turquoise and Caicos was lighter, Chanel Nouvelle Vague again was more blue and China Glaze Four Leaf Clover was similar but slightly darker.

Also, once this was on my nails it kept reminding me of Grasshopper Pie...

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain 15 Rose Vinyl Swatch and Review

YSL Rose Vinyl Glossy Stain

This was my second purchase from the new YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stains. It's a lovely medium pink  which on my lips looks cooler (more blue toned) on my lips, so I'm guessing it will vary quite a bit on different skintones. It's not as opaque as Rouge Laque and somewhat less glossy but I can detect a slight shimmer.

Chanel May Nail Polish : Swatch and Review

Chanel May nail polish from the Spring Collection (and limited edition I believe) is a neutral pink creme that leans cool depending on the lighting. It's a pretty pink that is natural enough to be office safe but bright enough to make you look polished. I found this to be mostly opaque in two coats.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Review and Swatches

So Revlon's Colorburst  Lip Butters have finally made it over to Europe! I picked up 4 so far, 045 Cotton Candy, 080 Strawberry Shortcake, 090 Sweet Tart and 010 Raspberry Pie. These are much more pigmented than your usual lip balm and are great for on the go touch ups. Raspberry pie is the most opaque coverage out of the 4, it's a deep berry pink that has to be applied in front of a mirror. Cotton Candy is a pale lilac pink with plenty of shimmer, Strawberry Shortcake is a medium-light warm pink, Sweet Tart is a bright warm pink and my favourite of the bunch!

Bottom line is that I rather love these and will be getting more ASAP!

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain 9 Rouge Laque Review + Swatch

Yves Saint Laurent recently introduced their new line of lipstick/stain/gloss hybrids. I picked up two, number 9 Rouge Laque and 15 Rose Vinyl. Rouge Laque is a vibrant orange based red( which looks like the colour on the model in the ad), it's very glossy and leaves a lovely stain behind once the gloss had worn away. I really like these as they don't seem to dry out my lips as a lot of traditional stains do.

Mac Viva Glam Nicki Review & Swatch

Mac Viva Glam Nicki

The latest offering from Mac's Viva Glam campaign is from Nicki Minaj. This is a uber bright yellow toned pink with a pretty opaque coverage. This has been really hit or miss with a lot of the beauty world but for me personally- I love it! The key is to make sure your lips are in tip top condition so after exfoliating your lips, pop a bit of balm on and leave it to sink in for a few minutes. After this, wipe off the excess and put Viva Glam Nicki on top. Perfect!
