YSL Yves Saint Laurent 7 Lingerie Pink Rouge Volupte Swatch & Review

Recently I've gone back to using one of my old favourites- YSL Lingerie Pink Rouge Volupte which is a coolish milky pink with a creme finish. This is one of those cult status lipsticks, in a way I find that a bit strange as it can be quite hard to pull off, I find the best way is to blot it with your finger afterwards to take away some of the harshness or to top it with gloss (I've been using Mac Frankly Fresh of late). It looks particularly lovely when paired with a smokey eye.

Like most Rouge Voluptes it is creamy soft and quite moisturising. It is also scented with a sweet mango perfume that I love. Due to its amount of slip, wear time isn't as good as some others on the market- about 3 hours, although this doesn't bother me at all. The coverage is basically opaque in one swipe so you need to be careful you don't over apply as it is so soft and you will run out very quickly!

YSL Rouge Volupte Orange Shiver 14 Swatch & Review

Yves Saint Laurent's Rouge Volupte in 14 Orange Shiver (or Orange Frisson) is a bright pinkish orange. As Pantone's color of 2012 is Tangerine Tango I keep seeing this shade everywhere. This is more what I would call a grown up orange and is great for those who are afraid of traffic cone orange. As it's part of the Rouge Volupte range it's super creamy and opaque, because it has so much slip it's easy to over apply but as it has so much pigment you really don't need to.

This shade does have a sheen but isn't by any means glossy, I get about 3-4 hours wear from it before it needs touching up. It has the same mango scent that the RV line has which is pretty much undetectable after about 5 minutes.

YSL La Laque Couture 4 Corail Colisee Swatch & Review

I came across this the other day from Yves Saint Laurent, I think they might have launched a new nail polish collection recently as I've never noticed it before. Anyway I picked up number 4 Corail Colisee which is a very bright coral red. It dries a little bit darker than you see in the bottle but it's still very pretty. It is on the sheer side, almost like a jelly, I used 2 coats but it needed 3 looking back at the photos as you can see a fair amount of VNL.

They've included a wide brush, a bit like the ones from OPI, which makes painting nails super fast. It dries nice and glossy (I didn't use a top coat here). This manicure lasted me about 3 days before I saw any tip wear which is about average for me as I'm quite heavy handed.

YSL Volupte Sheer Candy 4 Grenade Suave Swatch & Review

Yves Saint Laurent Volupte Sheer Candy in 4 Grenade Suave (Succulent Pomegranate) is a bright berry pink with a high shine finish. These are designed to be sheer but I find this is one of the more pigmented ones (a lot of the others give no colour at all). On my lips this gives a nice dose of raspberry pink (it comes out more pigmented than my swatches show for some reason!) and has a nice glossy shine. The texture is slightly balmy and not at all sticky and lasts about 2-3 hours on me. They are designed to be hydrating but I find they give a little moisture but I still prefer to use a bit of lip balm as well.
Like most YSL products the packaging is very pretty, the metal casing is pretty heavy though so you wouldn't want to tote 5 of these in your handbag at once! Also note that it doesn't have the miniature mirror on the lid like the usual Rouge Voluptes. It has a lovely sweet mango scent that is quite strong initially but soon disappears.

YSL Rouge Volupte Perle 114 Sparkling Fuchsia Review & Swatches

Launched as part of YSL's spring collection this new Rouge Volupte Perle is a bright (not neon) hot pink with lots of shimmer. As with other Rouge Voluptes it's very creamy, quite moisturising, good payoff and has a sweet mango scent. The only trade of with the texture is that it does tend to have quite a lot of slip and doesn't hang on as long as say, a matte finish.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain 8 Orange De Chine Review & Swatch

My latest purchase from Yves Saint Laurent is another Glossy Stain, this time I chose number 8 "Orange De Chine" which is a beautiful bright orange. It's a semi sheer jelly but still packs a lot of colour. If you layer this I find you get the best results. The first coat gives you a stain, once this is applied wait for a minute or so then apply your second coat for a glossy finish.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain 15 Rose Vinyl Swatch and Review

YSL Rose Vinyl Glossy Stain

This was my second purchase from the new YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stains. It's a lovely medium pink  which on my lips looks cooler (more blue toned) on my lips, so I'm guessing it will vary quite a bit on different skintones. It's not as opaque as Rouge Laque and somewhat less glossy but I can detect a slight shimmer.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain 9 Rouge Laque Review + Swatch

Yves Saint Laurent recently introduced their new line of lipstick/stain/gloss hybrids. I picked up two, number 9 Rouge Laque and 15 Rose Vinyl. Rouge Laque is a vibrant orange based red( which looks like the colour on the model in the ad), it's very glossy and leaves a lovely stain behind once the gloss had worn away. I really like these as they don't seem to dry out my lips as a lot of traditional stains do.

Bobbi Brown Atomic Orange Review, Swatches and Dupes

I was lucky enough to buy this Bobbi Brown lipstick before it started to hit high prices on ebay. It's a super pigmented shade of bold neon orange. It's absolutely gorgeous and can also be worn smudged in with your finger for a less extreme look. I think this came out with the Neons and Nudes collection and has been a total sell out!

Mac Naughty Saute Lipstick Review and Dupe

I picked this up from the Mac shop cook collection. It's a cremesheen in a pretty blue toned pink. It's a much deeper, more wearable version of Saint Germain. It does have quite a lot of slip in it so probably won't be as long lasting as some of the other colours like Quick Sizzle and Watch Me Simmer.

Compared with Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte 8 Fetish Pink. As you can see they're very similar and also in texture and lightness, although not an exact match.
